Fire Wipes Out Town Of Forest Home

A Monday afternoon fire brought out almost a dozen local fire departments, and shut down part of Hwy. 23 in both directions for almost two hours. The calls started coming in to the FDL County Communications center just before 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon (2/1/21) regarding a house fire at W981 Hwy. 23 in the Town of Forest. Witnesses reported an attached garage at the residence was fully engulfed in flames and spreading to the home. Firefighters and law enforcement were able to rescue a dog from the blaze. There were no injuries reported, but the home is considered a total loss, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were Fire Departments from Mt. Calvary, St. Cloud, Eden Campbellsport, City of Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac, Town of Fond du Lac, Calumet County, Glenbeulah, Stockbridge, Greenbush as well as Eden First Responders and Mt. Calvary Ambulance.
