Fitzgerald Announces New Endorsements of 5th Congressional Seat Bid

State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald has received two
new endorsements in his bid for the 5th Congressional District Seat.
Fitzgerald’s campaign announced this week endorsements by former U.S. Senate
Candidate Kevin Nicholson, and former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson.

Nicholson ran for U.S. Senate in 2018 – losing to Leah
Vukmir in the Republican Primary last August. He had considered running for the
5th Congressional Seat, but Tuesday announced he would not run for
congress and put his support behind Fitzgerald.

Thompson, the 41st Governor of Wisconsin and
former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary announced his support for
Fitzgerald on Wednesday – saying Fitzgerald is a “proven conservative” who “has
had a leading role in some of the most important reforms in our state in recent
decades.”

Fitzgerald is running for the seat after longtime representative
Jim Sensenbrenner announced he will not run for another term.
