Five People Injured In Dodge County Crash

5 people were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Dodge County.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out Friday August 13, 2021 at approximately 4:47 PM, for reports of an accident involving two vehicles on Hwy. 16/60 at the intersection of County Highway TT in the Town of Elba.

Initial investigation shows that a 2006 Subaru  and a 2021 Mitsubishi collided in the intersection. The 40 year old driver (and sole occupant) of the Mitsubishi sustained serious injuries and was transported to UW Hospital in Madison via ambulance.

The Subaru had 4 occupants including the 31-year old driver who sustained serious injuries and was transported to UW Hospital in Madison via Medflight.  A 10-year old front seat passenger sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to UW Hospital in Madison via Medflight. A 4 year old, and a 5 year old rear seat passenger sustained minor injuries. They were both transported to UW Hospital by Sheriff Schmidt where they were reunited with family.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Columbus Police Department, Waterloo EMS, Watertown EMS, Medflight, Beaver Dam EMS, Lifestar, Columbus Fire, and DCERT.
