Flight For Life Anniversary In FDL

A great experience  at the Holiday Inn in Fond du Lac Friday night. The Flight for Life helicopter crew and staff in Fond du Lac was celebrating flight’s 30th anniversary . The keynote speaker for the event was Randolph Mantooth who played Johnny Gage in “Emergency!” back in the 1970’s. We sat down and talked with him. He says he doesn’t do a lot of personal appearances, but does fundraisers for rescue services. One of the things auctioned off was the pink helmet seen below, which he autographed for the winner. Some of the funds raised went to the LA County Fire Museum to maintain the original Squad 51 from the TV series. Flight for Life has served over 33,000 patients since its inception in 1984. Flight’s base in Fond du Lac opened in 2008. The evening also featured stories from patients and rescue officials. Pictured above left to right Ryan Gauthier, Mantooth and John Schindler.
