Fond du Lac Dispatch Center Hosts Open House During Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Next week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and Fond du Lac County Communications & Emergency Management Director Amy Hasse has announced that there will be an open house at the dispatch center on April 11th and invites the public to tour the communications center and meet telecommunicators.

The Fond du Lac County Communications Center is a civilian-run 911 center that serves all the communities in Fond du Lac County, including 18 fire departments, 6 ambulance services, 11 first responder groups and 11 law enforcement agencies throughout the county.

On an average day, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center receives over 350 administrative calls and 75 emergency calls.

Hasse says because they are often heard but not seen, the important work telecommunicators do often goes unnoticed.

The open house runs from 1-3 PM at the communications center at 63 Western Avenue in Fond du Lac.
