Fond du Lac Man Transported To ThedaCare By Helicopter Following Friday Morning Crash

The Friday morning commute began with a 2-vehicle crash that injured 4 on Hwy. 23 at Streblow Dr., in the Town of Fond du Lac.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department was alerted Friday March 11, 2022 at approximately 6:46 am, of the 2-vehicle accident just west of Fond du Lac.

Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with Town of Fond du Lac Fire Department and First Responders, City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue, City of Fond du Lac Ambulance and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene. Hwy. 23 at Streblow Dr was open to one lane for 40 minutes while emergency personnel worked the scene. .

Investigation showed that a passenger car was stopped at the stop sign on Streblow Dr to make a left hand turn, to travel east onto STH 23. That vehicle proceeded into the intersection of STH 23 and Streblow Dr, and pulled out into the path of a westbound passenger car on STH 23.

Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane of STH 23. The passenger car that was turning onto STH 23 from Streblow Dr was operated by a 29-year-old male from Fond du Lac who was transported from the scene by City of Fond du Lac Ambulance to the Fond du Lac County Airport where they were meet by ThedaStar Air Medical helicopter. ThedaStar Air Medical transported this operator to Theda Care Regional Medical Center-Neenah for treatment of serious injuries.

The westbound vehicle was operated by a 20-year-old male from North Fond du Lac along with two passengers, a 38-year-old male from North Fond du Lac and a 41-year-old male from North Fond du lac. All three individuals in the westbound vehicle were transported to St. Agnes Hospital (SSM) by City of Fond du Lac Ambulance with minor injuries.

Both operators and the two passengers in the westbound vehicle were wearing their seat belts. The driver of the passenger car that was turning from Streblow Dr onto STH 23 (at fault) was cited for failure to yield right away from stop sign.
