Fond du Lac Woman Charged In Theft Of $65,000 From Kiel Business

A Fond du Lac woman is facing over 70 felony counts in Manitowoc County. Karen S. Schwind, 51, of Fond du Lac is accused of stealing over over $65,000 from trucking company Stellar and Son LLC, based in Kiel.

According to Manitowoc County Circuit Court documents, the charges include theft and fraudulent writing by a corporation officer. Kiel Police were contacted back in June of 2019 by the business owner who suspected theft by an employee. 

An audit was one and the results given to the PD, which showed the theft of over $65,000 from the business over the course of Schwind’s employment between 2018 and 2019. An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, and Schwind was arrested Thursday in Kewaunee. The investigation is ongoing, and no court date has been set as of yet.
