Fondue Fest Well Attended

Thousands attended the 11th Fondue Fest in Fond du Lac Saturday. Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Executive Director Amy Hansen was pleased with the attendance and the weather. Several hundred vendors had something to offer. She says they had over 200 different vendors with just about every ware you can image. Music, food, drink and activities for both kids and adults made for a pleasant day.

Plenty To Eat And Drink At Fondue Fest

If you were hungry or thirsty during Saturday’s Fondue Fest you didn’t have to look too far to appease that appetite or quench that thirst. Some used the opportunity to raise money for a good cause. Sixth grader Thomas Goldapske told us he made lemonade with some of the proceeds going to the Lomira Fire Department. He had also made the lemonade during Lemonade Day. Thomas was sporting a Fire Lieutenant’s helmet, but his father Bob is the real firefighter in the family or is he? Bob says Thomas is the lieutenant in the family and he is just a firefighter/EMT, but he was glad Thomas was supporting their department.  If you wanted a more adult beverage a short stroll from their booth would help you find a beer or a Bloody Mary. As for food there was plenty of that with cheese and chocolate fondue, kettle corn, homemade ice cream, steak sandwiches and more.

Skills And Crafts On Display At Fondue Fest

Skills and crafts were on display at the Fondue Fest in downtown Fond du Lac Saturday. One food vendor juggled to get more customers to his booth. Mike’s Music of course used music. Adashun Jones used virtual goggles to show some of their properties. On Sheboygan Street there was a car show. That’s where we found Jeff Ziegler of Fond du Lac who restored a green 1970 Nova. He has had the car for 18 years and his kids helped him with the complete restoration. He says every nut and bolt has been removed, every panel repainted and reassembled. And speaking of skills culinary students from Moraine Park Technical College prepared the cheese and chocolate fondue.
