Fondy High School Threat Traced To 3 Juveniles

The investigation into a potential threat concerning social media activity regarding Fond du Lac High School continued Tuesday (May 31, 2022).

Fond du Lac Police (FDLPD) continued to investigate the threat that was discovered May 30, 2022.

A joint press release issued Tuesday by the Fond du Lac School District and the City of Fond du Lac Police Department said, “All threats of violence are taken seriously by both the FDLPD and Fond du Lac School District. FDLPD has determined the threat on Snapchat was unsubstantiated and there is no evidence of danger.”

FDLPD traced the posting back to three (3) Fond du Lac High School students who were identified and interviewed along with a male subject who was attributed to making the comment in question.

FDLPD investigators learned that back on Thursday, May 26 a student alleged that while walking through a hallway she heard a male subject state he had a gun.  She advised she did not see any weapon nor hear any specific threats to harm anyone.  This student did not report this comment to any staff or law enforcement.  It was brought to the attention of FDLPD on Monday, May 30, 2022 around 3:36p.m. as the unsubstantiated comment was shared through other social media platforms.

The press release continued by saying, “The safety of students and staff is a top priority for all of our schools.  FDLPD continues to work closely with the Fond du Lac School District to ensure student safety and will provide an increased presence around all Fond du Lac schools as students return back to the Fond du Lac High School on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.”

The FDLPD encourages students and families to immediately report any suspicious activity or a potential act of violence rather than spreading the information to others.
