#1 ranked Kaukauna held on to beat the Fond du Lac boys basketball team 54-51 on Tuesday night at the Acuity Fieldhouse. Fond du Lactrailed by 11 at the half but caught the Ghosts to tie it at 41 on a Drew Joregensen three-pointer with 5:56 left in the game. Out of a timeout Kaukauna sophomore Adam Smith buried a baseline three and Fondy couldn’t pull even the rest of the way. Freshman Jordan McCabe hit a pair of free throws with 4.0 left to help Kaukauna to the win. Fondy’s Brian Luteyn scored 19 of his game high 23 in the 2nd half. Jake Walgenbach added 8 and Caleb Goldstein 7. Carter Belling had 13, McCabe 10, and Smith 10 to pace Kaukauna 9. Fond du Lac will travel to Appleton East on Thursday night.
