Former FDL Police Major Gets DOJ Promotion

A former Fond du Lac Police Major has been promoted to Director of the Wisconsin Department of Justice Training and Standards Bureau. Dennis Fortunato has been serving as deputy director of the DOJ’s Crime Information Bureau since the spring of 2012. Former Fond du Lac Police Chief Tony Barthuly is the DOJ’s Administrator for the Division of Law Enforcement Services, essentially Fortunato’s boss once again. He says Fortunato was out of law enforcement after retiring from the police department, but got back into it with the DOJ. Fortunato worked for the Fond du Lac School District for a while. Barthuly says for Fortunato this is a dream job and he believes good things will follow. Barthuly formerly served in the same position with the DOJ that Fortunato has been promoted to.
