Former Journalist Runs For FDL School Board

She used to report on Fond du Lac School Board meetings, but now a Fond du Lac woman will be one of those serving on the board. Peggy Breister, who used to work for the Fond du Lac Reporter, is one of three candidates for three seats on the board. She says she has always been impressed with the level of commitment school board members have. She says education is important to her and it is one of the smartest things we can spend money on. She says she would like to be part of that decision-making process. She says she has a couple of problems with proposed enhancements for Fruth Field. She says a proposal to put in artificial turf given the proximity to the Fond du Lac River and past flooding doesn’t make sense. Plus she says the district still is shy about a $500,000 on paying for the improvements they made to the field’s entrance. She says the school choice voucher program in her opinion hurts public schools.
