Former Markesan Man Honored Monday, Flags To Fly At Half-Staff

Flags will be flown at half-staff Monday, per an order by Governor Tony Evers, to honor U.S. Navy Hospital Apprentice 1st Class Keefe R. Connolly.

Connolly will be laid to rest with full military honors in his hometown of Markesan. The ceremony will take place at Memorial Cemetery.

Connolly served on the battleship USS Oklahoma and was killed December 7, 1941, when the ship was hit by a torpedo. The ship sank, killing 429 crewmen.

Flags will fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Monday.
