Former Mayville Police Chief Placed On Probation

Former Mayville Police Chief Chris MacNeill has been placed on probation for a year for forging official documents. In Dodge County Court this week the 48-year-old MacNeill pled “no contest” to misdemeanor forgery and obstruction charges.  An eight-month jail sentence was imposed and stayed.  He stepped down last March after 17 years with the department. MacNeill altered documents in 2011 to help the son of a Mayville police officer get into the army. What was a “drug possession” case was changed to a “school medication violation.”
