Former Waupun Correctional Officer Charged for Delivering Illegal Articles to Inmate

A former Waupun correctional officer appeared in court on
Monday – facing charges of bringing illegal contraband into the facility.
41-year old Mose Rice of Janesville
faces one felony count of Delivering Illegal Articles to an Inmate.

Back in
July, an MP4 player and flash drive containing pornographic materials were
found in the inmate’s cell.
The inmate allegedly claimed Rice brought the
items, along with marijuana, to help pay back debts from a gambling addiction.

Rice admitted to bringing the drive – and says he never took money, but did it
out of fear of a street gang that the inmate was tied to. If convicted, Rice
faces up to three and a half years in prison. A judge will decide in December
whether to send the case to trial.
