Former Waupun Police Officer Pleads

The former Waupun Police Officer who admitted to committing 59 burglaries has pled to burglary charges in seven counties. Forty-five-year-old Bradley Young of Brandon was in Green Lake County Court Tuesday. Charges were consolidated from the seven counties he committed burglaries in dating back to 2010. As part of a plea agreement he pled guilty to one burglary count each in Barron, Burnett, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, and Waushara Counties. Young could get up to 12 ½ years in prison for each felony burglary count, but prosecutors are recommending a cap of 10 years in prison. Ultimately it will be up to the judge. No sentencing date has been set yet. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered. He was previously sentenced to three years probation on a car theft charge in Barron County.
