Police in August referred nine burglary cases to the Fond
du Lac County District Attorney’s office against a former Waupun police
officer. Brad Young is already facing similar charges in Barron, Burnett, Green Lake
and Waushara Counties. Fond du Lac Assistant Police
Chief Steve Klein says the burglaries mostly occurred along the frontage roads
by Highway 41 and Pioneer Road
in 2010 and 2011. Young was allegedly involved in a crime spree in August of
2013. Klein says after that a task force was formed. He says as a result Fond du Lac investigators
linked him to the nine cases from a couple years ago. Those charges may be
consolidated with others from Green
Lake County
.
Young has a plea hearing there in December and a sentencing hearing in Barron County
on December 15th on a vehicle theft charge. His initial hearing on Waushara County charges is Wednesday, November
5th.
