Fort Atkinson Man Sentenced For Drug Deaths In Neenah

A Federal judge in Green Bay this week sentenced a 47-year-old Fort Atkinson man to life in prison for selling heroin that led to the deaths of two Neenah men and the overdose of a third. The deaths of 24-year-old Frederick Schnettler and 38-year-old Cory Dedering were linked back to heroin Donald Harden sold. In September of 2014 Harden gave 11 grams of heroin to a dealer in a parking lot in Waupun telling her, “Be careful with this stuff, it’s got bodies on it.” That heroin later led to Schnettler’s death. In November a jury found Harden guilty of conspiracy to deliver heroin and possession with intent to distribute heroin involving 100 grams or more. Evidence at trial also showed Harden used a “stash house” in Watertown to repackage heroin he bought in Chicago, Illinois for distribution in the Fox Valley area.
