Foster Sentenced To 3 Years Prison

Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced Friday, May 14, 2021 that a jury convicted Marques L Foster of felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon in Fond du Lac County Case No. 18 CF 755.

Foster was convicted of these offenses following a two day jury trial. The Honorable Peter L. Grimm sentenced Foster to 3 years of initial prison confinement and 5 years of extended supervision.

Foster’s convictions stem from a traffic stop in the City of Fond du Lac on November 23, 2018 where he was  driving a vehicle while his license was suspended. A search of the vehicle was performed and a loaded 9 mm handgun was located in the center console. Foster has an extensive criminal history that includes:

  • convictions for carrying a concealed weapon
  • manufacture/delivery cocaine
  • possession of cocaine
  • battery
  • obstructing an officer
  • numerous other offenses

District Attorney Eric Toney stated: “Many communities have seen a surge in gun violence, which is often drug related. Thankfully the handgun was not used during the commission of these crimes but we will continue to aggressively prosecute these defendants and hold them accountable to ensure our streets remain safe.”
