Fountain Island Bridge Work Started

The Fountain Island Bow Bridge between Fountain Island and Promen Drive is being replaced. Work started on it this past week. The bow components of the old bridge will be repaired, painted and set up alongside the pedestrian trail on the east end of Lakeside Park. The new bridge is expected to be made during the next two months and will be complete and open by the end of May. In the meantime, Fountain Island may be accessed from Main Street using the covered bridge at the south side of Fountain Island or from Oven Island using the pedestrian bridge on the southeast side of Fountain Island.
