Foxconn Impact

State Senator Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac was among those attending the historic signing of the Foxconn incentives bill. He was a proponent of it from the start. He notes the exact location for the facility hasn’t been announced yet, but there is plenty of excitement surrounding it. It will be located in the Racine area. Ground will be broken in the spring and the plant will be fully operational with up to 13,000 employees by 2022. Thousands of jobs will be created prior to that. He says the economic impact it will create for businesses that are part of the company’s supply chain will be phenomenal. Estimates put that impact at $1.2 billion. He feels the Fox Valley with its strong manufacturing component will play a vital role in that. Feyen believes there will be new business and business expansions created in the area through Foxconn opportunities.
