Free Spirit Riders of FDL transfers ownership

After closing without notice in November, Free Spirit Riders of Fond du Lac has announced they have transferred ownership of its assets and property in Fond du Lac to Rawhide, Inc. In a statement released Friday, Board President Steve Hansen said the Board of Directors had been evaluating the Free Spirit Business model, and had to make the difficult decision to discontinue the current services. Approximately 50 riders will be referred to equine programs in the area. Former program participants are being invited to an Open House at the facility on January 12, from 10 until noon, to find out more about those available equine therapy programs. No date has been given on when the facility will re-open. FSR was founded in 1987 by Amelia Butzen and Mary Narges.
