Funding Package Will Help Local Roads, Says DOT Secretary

The latest infrastructure report card gave the Badger State a C-grade. D-O-T Secretary Designee Craig Thompson says that’s a fair rating

“We’ve stopped the decline in the condition of our state highways, we’ve gotten more money to the locals. But we’ve got 115-thousand miles of road in the state, and 90 percent is owned by the locals. So they just have a lot of roadway, and they’ve got a long way to go.”

Biden’s package includes nearly a trillion dollars in federal funding. It’s aimed at improving local roads and bridges, public transportation, water systems, and broadband internet service.
