Garage Damaged in Fire at Town of Taycheedah Home

A
garage sustained significant damage at a home in the Town of Taycheedah Sunday night. The Fond du Lac County
Sheriff’s Office along with fire departments from the Town of Fond
du Lac, Calumet, Mount Calvary, St.
Cloud, Oakfield, Lamartine and Waupun were called to
the home on County Highway QQ shortly after 10:30 pm. A neighbor called 9-1-1
after seeing smoke and flames coming from an attached garage. Due to the quick
response from fire crews, the fire was contained to the garage and the home is
still habitable. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and a family dog was
accounted for. No injuries were reported. The Sheriff’s Office says the fire
appears to have started in a garbage bin next to the garage – and was
potentially ignited by the disposal of cleaning and painting materials.
