Gender Identity And Expression Discrimination Ordinance Dropped From Council Agenda

The Fond du Lac City Council won’t be taking up an amendment to the housing discrimination ordinance after all Wednesday night. City Council President Sam Meyer says they are dropping the Gender Identity and Expression discrimination ordinance. He issued a statement saying:

“Based on feedback from constituents, there are many questions and concerns regarding the proposed ordinance change as it relates to gender identity and expression. Due to this feedback, the initiator has withdrawn his proposal at this time. It will not be considered at this Wednesday’s City Council meeting. We wanted to pass the word so members of the public were aware it will not be on the agenda.” City Councilman Dan Manning had proposed the ordinance amendment.
