Girl Convicted in Slender Man Case Appeals

One of the girls who pleaded guilty to stabbing a classmate
19 times and leaving her to die to please the fictional character Slender Man
is now appealing her case. Morgan Geyser’s attorney filed a notice of appeal,
but declined to outline the basis on Monday. Geyser and her co-defendant,
Anissa Weier, were committed to mental health institutions for the stabbing at
a Waukesha park
back in 2014. Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first degree intentional
homicide last year – striking a deal to avoid prison time. She was committed to
the maximum sentence of 40 years in an institution.
