Glenn Grothman Running For 6th Congressional District Seat

State Senator Glenn Grothman has set his sights on Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional seat. Grothman calls himself a conservative for congress. He says the federal debt has risen to $17.5 trillion and there’s no sense of urgency to do anything about it. The Assistant Majority Leader in the Wisconsin State Senate says the problem isn’t just Democrats, but Republicans who have adopted a principle of its okay to expand government, but not by much. He says incumbent Congressman Tom Petri is well liked, but isn’t getting the job done. Grothman says he’s at a disadvantage with Petri already having nearly $1 million in his war chest, but he’s up for the challenge. Grothman is also moving from West Bend to Campbellsport in the next week. He says it is closer to Fond du Lac and what he feels is the heart of the district. Grothman will oppose Petri in a Republican primary showdown in August.
