Gov. Evers Wants More Input On Bail Changes

Governor Tony Evers says he’s not ready to decide on whether he supports an amendment on bail reform that’s making its way through the state legislature.

Speaking on Capital City Sunday, Evers says he wants more time to look at the issues.

“My only position is that we have all the people at the table before we decide what is right and what is wrong.”

Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes has come out in favor of the elimination of cash bail. Republicans are looking to amend the state constitution to allow for higher cash bails.
