Governor Evers Orders Flags At Half Staff Wed.

Flags will be flown at half-staff on Wednesday for a Fond du Lac police officer who died after contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.

Governor Evers is ordering the U-S and Wisconsin flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Fond du Lac’s Joseph Kurer (coor).

The 26-year-old police officer died a week ago, just a day after his second child was born. Kurer is the youngest person to die from COVID-19 complications in Fond du Lac County, where 139 people have died since March of last year. Kurer’s funeral is Wednesday.
