Governor Evers Orders Flags Flown At Half Staff In FDL County
Coming on the heels of the sudden and unexpected death Sunday of Fond du Lac County Executive Allen Buechel, comes an Executive Order issued by Governor Evers.
Evers issued the proclamation Tuesday afternoon, announcing Executive Order #160, which means the United States Flag and the state flag of Wisconsin will fly at half-staff this Friday, April 1, 2022.
The Proclamation can be viewed here:
The flags will remain lowered until the end of the day Saturday, as a mark of respect for Buechel, who passed away Sunday of a heart attack. He was 74.
The Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors will meet in a Special Session Wednesday, to discuss a June 7, Special Election, with the winner of the election serving out the remainder of the County Executive term, through 2025.
