Governor Says Maintaining Adequate Workforce A Challenge

Governor Scott Walker says the state’s biggest challenge is to make sure there is an adequate workforce available to employers. He told KFIZ News that the state reported a record number of employed people last November while the unemployment rate has hovered at or below 4 percent. He also says during the third quarter wages were up 7 percent in the private sector. He says the biggest challenge in keeping this comeback going is maintaining an adequate workforce. He says that is why more funding is being included in the state budget for Wisconsin’s 16 technical college systems and the UW-System.
