Governor Signs $7.14 Million Hwy. 10 Contract

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers signed $7.14 million contract to improve 16.10 miles of US 10 between the Waupaca/Winnebago County line and I-41 in Winnebago County. Construction will begin Monday, June 13 and is expected to be completed by the end of October of this year. US 10 will remain open during construction but will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the majority of the project. All travel lanes will be reopened for holidays and special events. Interchange ramps may be closed during at various times.

Michels Road & Stone, Inc. from Brownsville, Wis. is the Prime Contractor.

Project improvements

This is a maintenance improvement project. Work includes:

  • Concrete pavement repair
  • Replacement of bridge approaches
  • Beamguard
  • Shoulder paving
  • Pavement marking

Traffic impacts

US 10 will remain open to traffic throughout the maintenance project but will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the majority of the project. Various ramp closures will occur.

Project Benefits

This maintenance project will extend pavement life, improve the riding surface, relace deteriorated bridge approaches and upgrade roadside beamguard.
