Governor Takes Another Step Towards Presidential Run

The governor takes another step toward joining the Republican race for the presidency. Governor Scott Walker has formed a tax-exempt political group to help him boost his possible 2016 bid for the White House. The governor first told the Washington Post about his new campaign committee — Our American Revival. It will help spread the message and underwrite his activities. It’s a phrase Walker’s been using in his recent speeches at national conservative events. This is the first formal step the governor has taken in what is becoming a crowded field of Republican presidential hopefuls. The announcement of the new campaign committee comes after Walker spent much of January ramping up his likely declaration of candidacy, including a well-received appearance in Iowa on Saturday — all while finalizing a new two-year state budget he’ll submit to the legislature next Tuesday.
