Grothman Friend Of Shooting Victim

Congressman Glenn Grothman says one of victims shot during practice for a charity baseball game in Alexandria, Virginia last week is a friend of his. Grothman says Congressman Steve Scalise is improving, but has a tough rehabilitation ahead. He says he’s glad to see Scalis is improving, but when you are shot in the hip that can have life-long consequences.  The shooter, 66-year-old James Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois, was reportedly distraught over President Trump’s election. Grothman says unfortunately that was probably fueled by other Trump critics. He says when you get that rage from all over the place, sometimes from the media, sometimes from watching TV, and sometimes from columnists it’s not surprising that one of the more unbalanced or bitter members of the opposition would decide to shoot at somebody. The FBI says Hodgkinson acted “spontaneously.” Scalise, the majority whip of the House of Representatives, is in fair condition at a Washington, D.C. Hospital and has started rehabilitation.
