Grothman Speaks on Petri

(Campbellsport, WI) – Today, State Senator Glenn Grothman issued the following statement regarding the announcement that Congressman Tom Petri will retire at the end of this term:

“I thank Congressman Petri for his dedicated years of service to the people of the 6th Congressional District.  Congressman Petri is a good man and I wish him well as he transitions to retirement.

“Congressman Petri’s decision doesn’t change the issues that I’ll bring to the voters in my campaign.  The country’s spiral towards debt, the trend towards government dependency, and the breakdown of the American family are the issues that I’m most passionate about.

“I look forward to talking with the voters of the 6th District over the next few months about my proven conservative record in the state legislature.”

Glenn Grothman has represented forty communities throughout the 6th Congressional District in Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, and Dodge counties, some for over eighteen years.  He was first elected to the 20thSenate District in 2005.  He represented the 58th Assembly District from 1993 through 2004.
