Grothman Thinks Another Stimulus Relief Package May Get Done
Congressional leaders remain divided on another pandemic relief package as lawmakers prepare to return to Washington following a month-long recess. Sixth district congressman Glenn Grothman tells KFIZ News that at this point, the two sides are around a trillion dollars apart when it comes to finding common ground on a relief package, but Grothman says he wouldn’t be surprised if an agreement is reached.
“We’re in an election year. I know the public wants to see something get done, and as the result politicians like to say they voted for something. I just hope they don’t panic, and wind up throwing another 2 trillions dollars away.”
So far this year, four pandemic relief bills have been passed, totaling three trillion dollars. Lawmakers return to work in Washington on Tuesday.
