Grothman Weighs In On Amazon Book Ban
Congressman Glenn Grothman (WI-06) has released a statement after news that Amazon has banned the book “When Harry Became Sally” from its website. This book discusses the science behind Gender Dysphoria and has been a life-changing guide for individuals struggling with a crisis of identity.
“One more time, America’s tech giants have weighed in and censored thought in America,” said Grothman. “I don’t think it’s a coincidence that what they choose to censor is more conservative thought. The internet has provided people with a wealth of information to sort through and absorb in order to make their own decisions on how they feel. Amazon has taken it upon themselves to filter information that does not fit their Silicon Valley worldview and deprive people of knowledge that may save their life.
“One author described his crisis of identity in detail and claimed that the book ‘When Harry Became Sally’ changed his life for the better by letting him know that he is not alone in his struggle with gender identity. Individuals with Gender Dysphoria attempt suicide at an alarming rate. Instead of offering this book as a resource for people questioning their identity, Amazon has chosen to bow to the cult of the woke and ban it, leaving people with fewer options on how to cope with their internal struggle.
“It is my hope that new companies and new platforms will spring-up so that it is as easy to access conservative ideas from blogs, books, and social media as it is the ideas of the radical left. America has obviously been changing dramatically for the last ten years and Americans had better collectively wake up if they want to retain traditional values, like free speech and accepting different opinions, that have made America great.”
Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) is serving his fourth term representing Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
