Ground Beef Recall Impacts Wisconsin Consumers

A Chicago-based packing company has recalled just over
2,000 pounds of raw ground beef products over concern that they may be
contained with clear plastic pieces.

Amity Packaging Company announced the recall last week. The
affected products were produced on January 6th of this year, and
include one pound vacuum sealed packages of Pre 95% Lean/5% fat Ground Beef.
The recalled products have a use/freeze by date of January 31st,
2020 on the label and were shipped to retailers in nine states, including
Wisconsin.

A news release says the recall was initiated after the
company received two complaints from customers who found clear, thin pliable
plastic in the ground beef. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators
or freezers for the recalled product, and throw them away or return them for a
refund.
