Groundbreaking Held For New Warbirds Locker Room At Blue Line Ice Center

The sun shone brightly in Fond du Lac Thursday (7/14/2022) on the groundbreaking of a new locker room at the Blue Line Family Ice Center.

Representatives from the Warbirds Girls Varsity Hockey team, The Blue Line Family Ice Center along with C.D. Smith Construction, along with dozens of young female hockey participants and their families, with the new locker room construction serving as the back drop.

Christine Rottman is the Junior Warbirds hockey director, among the many other hats she wears, and told KFIZ News it’s an exciting time. “Outgrowing your current space is always a good problem to have!”

Rottman said the plan has been easily 11 years in the making. “We have some very excited high school players as well as youth players.”

Rottman became the Girl’s Hockey Director 8 seasons ago “and we started with just one all-girls team, really, and now we’ve grown to the point this year we will have A-level and B-level teams across the age spectrum. That’s 107 sets of little eyes looking back to me to do what’s right for them.”

Construction is expected to completed by September, just in time for the new season, but the financial side still has some work to go.

If you’d like to assist financially, contact Christine Rottman at 920-251-5455.
