Guaranty Bank Branch In FDL Closed
The Guaranty Bank that was located inside the Pick ‘n Save Store on West Johnson Street in Fond du Lac is one of 38 Wisconsin branches that were closed last Friday by Federal officials. That happened because the bank wasn’t able to recover from the housing and mortgage foreclosure crisis. The FDIC arranged a deal in which First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company assumes all of the deposits of Guaranty Bank. The bank had 119 outlets in 5 states, 107 of them were inside retail outlets. The branches inside the retail outlets will not reopen. The 12 brick and mortar locations in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin are reopening as First-Citizens Bank & Trust.
