Heat Advisory Cancelled Thursday, Remains in Place for Friday

Rain this (Thursday) morning and clouds kept temperatures
down enough that the National Weather Service cancelled the Heat Advisory that
was in effect starting Thursday afternoon. The advisory will still be in place
beginning Friday morning and lasting through the late evening hours.
Forecasters are still expecting highs to reach the mid-90s on Friday, with heat
index readings between 105 to 110 degrees.

Fond du Lac County Emergency Management and the Fond du
Lac County Health Department are encouraging everyone to check on friends,
relatives and neighbors who may not have air conditioning and to know the signs
and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. People who are working outside
– or attending the Fond du Lac County Fair – are encouraged to drink plenty of
water and take breaks in buildings with air conditioning, like the Recreation
Building or the Expo Building.

Some relief from the heat and humidity comes this
weekend, with highs in the mid-80s Saturday, low-80s by Sunday and the upper
70s forecast for Monday.
