Heat Advisory For FDL & Surrounding Counties

Everyone kept asking when summer was going to finally arrive. It’s safe to say summer is officially here, in a big way.

Due to hot temperatures and high humidity, a Heat Advisory is in effect for Fond du Lac and the surrounding counties until 7 p.m. Tuesday (6/21/2022).

The advisory includes Dodge, Winnebago, Calumet, Green Lake, Sheboygan, Washington, Marquette and Columbia Counties.

Heat index values are expected to reach between 100 and 105.

Residents are reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in cool or air-conditioned areas, and stay out of the sun for prolonged periods of time.

You are also asked to check in on relatives and neighbors.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstance.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
