Hebel Receives Friend Of Education Award

The Fond du Lac School District announced Monday (6/6/2022) that Dan Hebel, the CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Fond du Lac, has been selected for the 2021-22 Friend of Education Award.

The Fond du Lac School District partners with the Fond du Lac Education Association to select an individual or group each school year to recognize as a Friend of Education.

“We wanted to recognize Dan Hebel for his dedicated leadership within the Fond du Lac community,” said Dr. Jeffrey Fleig, Superintendent of the Fond du Lac School District. “Dan is always willing to collaborate to serve our students.”

Hebel has been instrumental in working with the school district to establish partnerships to provide after school programs. He also collaborated closely with the District throughout the COVID-19
pandemic, such as opening the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac to provide services to local youth on remote learning days.

The Club provides a year-round supportive, caring and stable environment for local youth.

Each year since 1998, the Fond du Lac School District and the Fond du Lac Education Association have collaborated to select an annual Friend of Education Award recipient. The award is presented to individuals and/or organizations who contribute significantly to the mission of the Fond du Lac School District.

Last year, the Friend of Education Award was presented to the Fond du Lac County Health Department for their dedication to the children and staff of the Fond du Lac School District during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2021-22 Friend of Education Award was presented during the Fond du Lac School District Board of Education Monday.
