Hefty Welcomed Back to FDL After Deployment

With a massive Fire Truck as the backdrop, and a moving rendition of the Star Spangled Banner sung by the WLA Choir, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue welcomed back one of their own on Tuesday. 

Sergeant Brett Hefty was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel back in March of 2019. Hefty was a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard, Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry based in Green Bay. He currently serves as a firefighter/paradmedic assigned to Fire Station #2 on the city’s east side.
