Helicopter Crashes into Fox River in Oshkosh

Update – 6/10 – 8 AM: 

The Winnebago County Coroner has confirmed that a man died in the crash. It is believed he was the pilot of the helicopter. 


The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says one person has
been recovered after a helicopter crashed into the Fox River in Oshkosh. The
crash happened around 12:30 pm Saturday near the Wisconsin Street Bridge when the
helicopter hit a power line, causing the line to break and go into the water. Crews
pulled the helicopter from the river just after 7 pm. Officials with the DNR,
Oshkosh Fire Department and Wisconsin Public Service are on scene and the
National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
