Help Available For Domestic Violence Victims

A member of the Fond du Lac Police Department’s SWAT Team says both recent standoff incidents were the result of domestic disputes. Officer Erik Foster says the department’s Domestic Violence Intervention Team follows up on calls like that and tries to provide help for the victim. He says they check to see if the victim needs resources and if they do put them on track to receive them. He says in the event that the victim wants help they can be referred to programs like St. Agnes Hospital’s Domestic Violence Services. He says they do a lot of work with domestic violence victims. He says they can help them with programs that will qualm the fears of the victims. Foster says fortunately no one was hurt in either recent standoff.
