Help Sought In Jackson County Cold Case

The state’s Justice Department is working with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department to identify a human skull in a 37-year-old cold case. Loggers found the skull while working in a remote wooded area near the Village of Warrens in August of 1978. Also found near the remains was a post-style earring. It’s estimated the victim was a white man between 28 to 52-years-old. A sketch was computer-generated showing what the victim might have looked like in 1978. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 715-284-9009.
