Herre Appointed Interim President/CEO of FDLAC

Fond du Lac, WI The Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce (AC)
Board of Directors has announced that Tom Herre has been appointed Interim
President and CEO of the organization, effective May 2, 2016.  Herre will serve in this capacity while the
board recruits, selects and hires a permanent President and CEO.  That process is targeted to be complete by
the end of July 2016.

 

As Interim
President and CEO, Tom will leverage his substantial executive experience to
support the mission of the AC, the needs of its members and the AC staff.  In addition he will assist the Board of
Directors in their process for selecting a permanent President and CEO.

 

Herre
is a Fond du Lac
native and served as city manager here from August 2005 to June 2012.  He
is a graduate of St. Mary’s Springs Academy and the United
States
Military Academy at West Point
Herre earned an MBA from Syracuse University and attended the Industrial College
of the Armed Forces.

 

After
a 30-year Army career he became the vice president of Referee Enterprises in Racine.  Referee
Enterprises publishes a magazine for sports officials and manages the National
Association of Sports Officials.  Early in his career he was a new product
development manager for Kimberly-Clark in Neenah
His first business experiences in Fond
du Lac
were caddying at South Hills, delivering papers
for The Reporter and Milwaukee Journal, and scooping custard at
Gillies.  

 

Since
his return to Fond du Lac, Herre has been very
active in the community and has served on the board of directors of the Fond du
Lac County Economic Development Corporation, Fond du Lac Convention and Visitors Bureau
and the United Way
Currently, he is the president of the Thelma
Sadoff Center
for the Arts board and a member of the boards of the Fond
du Lac
Area Foundation, and St. Mary’s Springs Academy.

Herre
is married to Sally, also a Fond du
Lac
native, and they have three adult daughters.
