Cardinals Get
Thumped By Kimberly
The
Fond du
Lac
Cardinals got taken to the wood-shed by
2nd ranked Kimbelry 55-14 on Friday night in a Valley Football
Association cross-over game.  The Cardinals couldn’t stop the Papermakers all
night long as JP Peerenboom ran for 3 touchdowns and Blair Mulholland added 2
scores in the blowout.  The Cardinals got on the scoreboard in the
4th quarter as Marcus Ruch caught caught an 11 yard TD pass from Jack
Najedlo.  Najedlo then scored from 15 yards out at the 7:04 mark.  Justin
Maratik ran in the 2 point conversion but Najedlo was injured on the play with
what Coach Mike Gnewuch said was a torn ACL.  Fondy (0-2) will open Valley
Football Association South Division play next week when they travel to Marshfield (1-1).  You’ll
hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com

Ledgers
Win
St. Mary’s Springs picked up a 47-12 win over Wautoma at
Fruth Memorial Field on Friday night.  Wautoma jumped out to a 6-0 lead early
but then it was all Ledgers as Ikle Floyd ran for four touchdowns and Sam
Spranger ran for a pair of scores.  The game was ended with 3:08 to play when a
Wautoma was taken off the field in an ambulance with a neck injury. Initial
reports say the young man will be OK.  St.
Mary’s Springs opens up Flyway play next Friday in Omro.  You’ll hear that game
