The
Fond du Lac Cardinal football team ripped Appleton West 54-0 on Hall of Fame
Night at Fruth Memorial Field. Jack Nejedlo hit Brian Luteyn on a screen that
went 75 yards for a TD on Fondy’s 2nd play from scrimmage and the
route was on.  Nejedlo added touchdown
runs of 6 and three yards as the Cardinals built a 20-0 lead at the end of the
first quarter.  Fondy built their lead to
40-0 at the half as Justin Maratik scored on runs of 1 and 60 yards before Kyle
Pierce added a 13 yards scamper.  Junior
Quinn Woelfel ran for a pair of touchdowns in the 4th quarter to
finish of the scoring.  Maratik finished
the day with 179 yards and 2 TDs,  Quinn
Woelfel finished the day with 79 yards and 2 TDs on the ground while Nejedlo
had 35 yards and 2 TDs.  Brian Luteyn
caught five passes for 135 yards and a TD. 
Fond du Lac is 2-0 and will host Marshfield in the Valley
Football Association South Division Opener next Friday night at Fruth.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

St.
Mary’s Springs improved to 2-0 with a 30-12 win at Wautoma in a game that was
shortened because of a thunderstorm. Senior kicker Zach Hintze kicked three
field goals including a school record 57 yarder at the end of the first
half.  The Ledgers will host North Fondy
next Saturday night in a game you’ll hear it on K107.1.
